SUMMARY
ADULT
Variable in color- reddish-brown with black eyes and antennae, black central maculae on apical ½ of elytra; or black head, antennae, and elytra, and reddish brown pronotum; or totally reddish brown. Head: sparsely punctate; depressed between eyes; medial carina present; frons not projecting. Antenna: black, sometimes with antennomeres 1-3 yellow; antennomeres 1-5 compressed; 2 and 3 equal, dilated internally at apex; 4 subtriangular; 1 clavate, incrassate, very compressed; 3 longer than 2 or 4; 5-10 transverse, subequal in length; 11 rounded at apex, elongate, ¾'ths length of 1; 4-11 setose. Pronotum: transverse, quadrate; subconvex; finely, sparsely punctate; disc almost impunctate; sides rounded and convergent apically; anterior angle rounded, slightly produced; posterior angle rectangular; pronotal length 1.6-2.1 mm (n=15); pronotal width 1.9-2.7 mm. Scutellum: triangular; smooth; shining; impunctate; yellow. Elytron: wider than base of pronotum; subconvex, disc flattened; side margined, parallel, smooth; apices cojointly rounded; punctures moderately impressed; puncture rows converge and unite at apex; elytral length 6.7-8.0 mm; elytral width 3.4-3.7 mm. Venter: prosternum yellow, smooth; meso- and metasterna yellow and smooth in middle, black and punctate at sides; abdominal sterna black with yellow side margin, setose; last abdominal sternite slightly sinuate in male, rounded in female. Leg: femur robust, yellow with black apex; tibia black at base and apex, setae on inner apical ⅓; protibial basal marking extends along outer edge almost to apex. Total length: 9.1-10.3 mm (Staines 1996).
