SUMMARY
ADULT
Cantharid-like in appearance; head, antennae (except basal antennomere), and elytra black, pronotum red with inverted black V; oblong. Head: vertex densely punctate; black except at antennal insertions which are brown; not depressed between eyes; medial sulcus absent; frons not projecting. Antenna: ½ body length; antennomere 1 transverse, reddish, small; 2 cylindrical, subequal in length to 1; 3 cylindrical, longer than 1-2 combined; 4-10 cylindrical, subequal in length; 11 rounded at apex; setose. Pronotum: transverse; much narrower than base of elytra; convex; inverted V-shaped vitta from base to apex; punctate, more so laterally; side margined, straight; anterior angle rounded, slightly produced; posterior angle acute; pronotal length 0.8 mm (n=1); pronotal width 1.5 mm. Scutellum: broadly triangular, black, smooth. Elytron: side margined, smooth; apices individually rounded; sides flattened behind humerus; humerus rounded; disc irregularly punctate; dull; elytral length 4.7 mm; elytral width 2.0 mm. Venter: pro-, meso-, and metasterna reddish and punctate on sides, black and smooth in middle; abdomen setose, black in middle, yellow laterally; sterna 1 and 2 not fused in middle. Leg: base of femur yellowish; top sides dark, undersides yellowish. Total length : 6.0 mm
