SUMMARY
LARVA
Color when alive creamy-white becoming translucent laterally and apically, with some yellowish areas medially. Color when dead yellowish-brown. Dorsum without medial setose ridge. Total length: 8.6-9.3 mm (n=4); width 4.6-4.9 mm.
Dorsum. Prothorax without raised central area; micropustulate; with pale setae along lateral and apical margins; lateral and apical margins with numerous shallow sulci. Mesothorax without raised central area or carina or sulcus; micropustulate; laterally with numerous shallow sulci on expansion. Metathorax with central portion micropustulate; without carina or sulcus. Abdominal tergites 1-6 slightly narrowed in middle; without carina laterally; spiracle near basal margin; spiracles appear as spot with darker margin, orifice as in Fig.. Abdominal tergites 7-10 without surface plicae or carinae.
Venter. Surface of expansions smooth, sulcate laterally. Head with surface sparsely punctate; labrum smooth, without setae; clypeus with fringe of setae at apex, with four large punctures each with a single seta; mandibles bidentate; maxillary palps with 2 palpomeres, without setae at apex; maxilla robust, clavate, with fringe of long setae at apex; labium densely setose. Antenna with antennomere 1 short, robust, ½ length of 2; 2 cylindrical, longer than 1 and 3 combined; 3 shortest, with ring of 19 setae at apex. Prothorax longer than others, wider than long, slightly depressed in middle; surface rugose-striate. Meso- and metathorax wider than long, slightly depressed in middle; surface rugose-striate. Abdominal sternites 1-8 wider than long, decreasing in width; with transverse sulcus just beyond middle and second transverse sulcus near apex; sterna 9-10 fused, rounded at apex. Leg femur wider and longer than tibiotarsus; tibiotarsus subconical, with a strong claw and 6 setae at apex.
ADULT
Head and antennae black, pronotum yellow with large black basal macula, elytra yellowish with reddish humerus and black sutural and lateral vittae. Head: vertex densely punctate; not depressed between eyes; medial sulcus absent; frons with adpressed yellowish setae, not projecting. Antenna: filiform; antennomeres 1 and 3 subequal in length; 2 shorter than 1 or 3; 1 clavate; 2 transverse; 3 cylindrical; 4-10 cylindrical; 11 rounded at apex. Pronotum: yellowish with black trapezoidal macula from basal margin covering posterior ⅔’s of disc; wider than long; disc irregularly punctate, rest nearly impunctate; side black, straight, slightly converging at apex; apical margin sinuate on either side of middle; anterior angle subacute; posterior angle acute; pronotal length 1.0-1.1 mm (n=5); pronotal width 1.4-1.6 mm. Scutellum: broadly triangular; smooth; black. Elytron: oblong; side margined, smooth, straight; apices obtusely rounded; moderately punctate-striate, punctures smaller on disc; puncture row 10 removed from lateral margin; yellowish with three black vittae and basal reddish-yellow macula at humerus; sutural vitta widest at base, narrowed posteriorly; lateral vittae begin behind humerus, convergent toward suture and narrowing; elytral length 4.0-4.4 mm; elytral width 2.3-2.4 mm. Venter: pro-, meso-, and metasterna smooth and reddish-brown in middle, punctate and darker at sides; abdominal sterna setose; sterna 1 and 2 not fused in middle. Leg: yellowish with femur and tibia with dark area at apices; tibia setose on inner apex. Total length: 5.4-5.9 mm.
